Building a traditional site-built home can be a lengthy and expensive process, especially as building material costs continue to increase; because of this, many buyers are choosing alternative home types, such as mobile or manufactured homes. Real estate agents that show mobile and manufactured homes should be able to address their client’s questions and concerns. This course aims to educate the agent on all aspects of the mobile/manufactured home, so they are better equipped for their clients.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define and Differentiate between stick built, mobile, and manufactured homes
  • Describe common problems that occur with buying or selling a mobile/manufactured home
  • Explain home inspection basics relating to mobile/manufactured homes
  • Review the HUD Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards, explaining how they relate to the inspection components of a mobile/manufactured home
  • Review common findings that are exclusive to mobile/manufactured homes, and explain how repair recommendations are handled
